Centenary Celebrations
In 1916 the Henty Parish became a fully sanctioned charge. But prior to this ministry in the Henty area continued to operate. The first service in Henty was held on the 20th May 1894 in the paint room of the blacksmith's shop. Later services were held in the Public School until the Union church was built in 1915.
As the parish grew, fellowship groups were formed at Mundawadra, Ryan and Yerong Creek. In 1935 the Foundation stone was laid for the new church building (our current building in Henty) and the building completed in 1936.
Thus in 2016, we will be celebrating 100 years of being a fully sanctioned charge and 80 years of our current building in which we currently meet.
The [Local Paper [http://www.easternriverinachronicle.com.au/story/3744288/debutantes-set-to-shine-at-henty-ball/?cs=633]] ran an article on our celebrations.
